Start with the reason you want backup

List the appliances and rooms you want available if the utility supply is interrupted. Separate essentials, such as refrigeration and communications, from loads you could defer. Include an air conditioner, pump, or other large load by name rather than assuming it is part of a general home-backup request.

Tell us whether you plan to add solar later. A future expansion goal should be discussed while the initial equipment and layout are being considered; it does not mean every battery-only installation will be ready for any future solar system.

Ask how energy will be replenished

A battery stores a finite amount of energy. Have the proposal explain its permitted charging source, normal operating setup, and limitations while the grid is unavailable. Do not treat a battery-only system as an indefinite source of electricity.

If a generator is already installed, share its model and transfer-equipment information. Integration needs review as a complete arrangement. Do not connect backup sources together based on a general online guide.

QuestionWhat you need to know
What is backed up?The specific loads or circuits covered by the design.
How is it charged? The supported charging arrangement and any operating restrictions.
What happens when energy runs low?The operating limits and homeowner guidance for the selected product.
Can solar be added later? What is supported and what additional work would still be required.
What does the total include?Battery, controls, electrical work, checks, and project requirements.

Prepare for the site review

Send your address, a list of priority loads, existing backup equipment, and safe exterior photos of the electrical equipment and possible battery location. Tell us about planned remodeling or electrical changes that could affect the installation.

Sun Ray provides project-specific battery quotes after reviewing the request. We do not publish a universal battery-only package, guaranteed runtime, or savings figure. The supported product and complete work scope must be established for your home.
