Bring the solar scope into the job before tear-off
When a roof has solar panels, the roofing schedule also needs a removal appointment, equipment storage plan, and reinstallation handoff. Sun Ray Solutions works with roofing contractors across Dallas–Fort Worth to define that solar portion of the job.
Send the proposed roof schedule while you are planning the work. A requested date is not a confirmed booking; we review access, equipment, scope, and availability before agreeing on appointments.
The job brief we need
- Property address and homeowner or authorized project contact.
- Total panel count, number of separate arrays, and which roof sections need removal.
- System brand/model and mounting system, if known.
- One or two stories, roof pitch if known, and existing and proposed roof material.
- Whether the system is currently working, with any known faults or monitoring alerts.
- Existing photos of the roof, mounting, and safely accessible equipment.
- Proposed tear-off date and expected roof-ready date, listed separately.
- Storage space, gate access, parking, lease arrangements, or planned roofline changes.
If the panel count is an estimate, label it as an estimate. Count panels separately from arrays: three roof sections do not necessarily mean three panels. Existing plans or photographs can help clarify the scope without asking anyone to climb the roof.
Unknown mounting details are fine for the initial inquiry. We confirm the count, access, and equipment requirements before finalizing the written price and schedule.
Agree on responsibilities at each handoff

If the roofer finds deck damage or changes the roof plan, tell us before the return appointment. Do not assume the original array layout or mounting materials still fit a changed roof.
Before booking tear-off, confirm the solar removal appointment. Before booking the return visit, have the roofing contact confirm that the relevant roof work is complete and the area is ready for solar. Weather delays or changed roof dates need a new agreed handoff; the original proposed date is not an automatic return booking.
Pricing, changes, and project documents
Our public removal and reinstallation range is $160–$220 per panel, with no travel fee. Contractor projects receive a written quote based on the actual scope; no unpublished volume discount is assumed.
Tell us which photos, invoices, scope details, and other records your project requires before booking. Confirm requested insurance, licensing, or other qualification documents directly before relying on them. Any additional repairs or materials should be approved as a change to the scope.
Keep roof and solar concerns assigned correctly
Roof readiness, solar reinstallation, and system performance are different milestones. A finished roof does not by itself mean that the solar work is complete. Confirm who will notify the homeowner at each stage.
For insurance-related work, the insurer determines coverage. We can discuss the requested solar quote and project documentation without promising reimbursement or assuming responsibility for claim negotiation.
