Identify the cooling system you want covered
Tell us whether you have one central system, multiple zones, a heat pump, or another cooling arrangement. Share model details from records or a safely accessible label. Identify which unit matters most if you have more than one.
If an HVAC replacement is planned, include the proposed equipment as well as the current system. A battery review based on an old unit may not answer questions about the equipment that will actually be installed.
Ask about starting and sustained operation
The proposal needs to address whether the battery configuration can support the intended AC equipment as well as the other backed-up loads. Ask the installer to explain the relevant starting and operating demands for that combination.
A suggested HVAC accessory or control change requires review by the appropriate professionals and the equipment manufacturer’s guidance. Do not treat an accessory as an automatic guarantee that a smaller battery system will run your AC.
Define a realistic cooling scenario

Read runtime estimates with their assumptions
Ask what charge level, weather, solar contribution, and appliance-use pattern the estimate assumes. Cooling demand can vary, so a modeled scenario is not a promise that the same battery lasts a fixed number of hours on every day.
