Collect the pump information safely
Use installation records, invoices, or a label that can be read without opening equipment. Include the pump model, any known electrical ratings, and the well-service company’s contact if they can provide the specifications.
Do not remove covers or attempt electrical measurements to fill out a quote request. If the records are missing, say so. The pump contractor and battery installer may need to clarify the equipment before a backup recommendation can be made.
Look beyond the pump alone
Describe the associated controls and any water-treatment equipment that you consider essential. Tell us whether the same backup system also needs to support refrigeration, communications, lighting, or cooling.
A proposal should address the complete group of intended loads and relevant starting demands. The fact that a battery supports one motor-driven appliance does not automatically establish suitability for a different pump and control arrangement.

Confirm the scope before relying on backup
Ask the proposed installer to explain what equipment is supported, the assumptions used, and what checks will be included at completion. A battery quote should not promise unlimited water availability or a fixed outage duration without a reviewed scenario.
