Give each provider the same starting information
Use the same address, electricity records, roof information, and future-use assumptions. State whether battery backup is included in the request. Otherwise, price differences may reflect different projects rather than a better value.
If you receive an updated proposal, keep its date and version with your notes. Equipment substitutions or scope changes can make an earlier side-by-side comparison inaccurate.
Use this comparison checklist
| Compare | Ask each provider |
|---|---|
| Equipment | What exact panel, inverter, and battery models are included? |
| Array size | What panel quantity and total nameplate rating are proposed? |
| Generation | What annual estimate and site assumptions are used? |
| Installation work | What mounting, electrical work, preparation, and approvals are included? |
| Price | What is the contract total before assumed incentives? |
| Exclusions | What could require a separate quote or approved change? |
| Completion | What records, checks, and monitoring access will be handed over? |
| Coverage | What equipment and workmanship terms apply, and who handles each? |
Separate estimates from commitments
Ask which statements are modeled estimates and which are written contractual commitments. A generation estimate, a bill-savings illustration, an equipment warranty, and a workmanship agreement serve different purposes.
If financing or an incentive is mentioned, obtain the actual terms and eligibility information from the responsible provider. This comparison guide does not assume that Sun Ray offers a financing program or that a specific benefit applies to your project.
Resolve unclear scope before signing
Ask for vague terms such as complete installation or all equipment to be explained in the proposal. Clarify roof preparation, electrical changes, project approvals, and what happens if a site condition requires additional work.
Sun Ray provides project-specific new-solar quotes. Send the project brief and the questions you want resolved. You can describe another proposal’s scope without sharing account numbers, private financing records, or other information unrelated to the technical comparison.
