Use electricity consumption as the starting point

Gather twelve months of electricity usage in kilowatt-hours if available. The dollar total alone can change with rates and fees, so include the actual usage figures. Tell us about a planned EV, new HVAC equipment, or other changes that may affect future demand.

Explain the outcome you want: offsetting part of your electricity use, planning for a battery, or reviewing whether the roof is suitable. These goals help establish what should be included in the first proposal.

Keep the contract total clear

Ask for the price before assumed incentives or savings, with optional work shown separately. A monthly-payment advertisement does not describe the complete installed scope. This page does not advertise a financing program, rebate, or guaranteed payback period.

If two proposals differ in system size or equipment, ask what problem each is intended to solve. The lowest total and the largest system are not enough information to judge whether the design fits your home.

Send a quote request with the right details

Start with the address, roof material and approximate age if known, electricity usage, and your project goals. Include planned roof replacement or major electrical work so the order of work can be considered before a date is discussed.
