HOMEOWNER GUIDE · DALLAS–FORT WORTH

One panel has a problem.
What needs replacing?

Replacing one panel may be possible, but the fault and replacement compatibility need review first. A low reading for one position in an app does not by itself identify which component needs replacement.

Does one low reading mean a broken panel?

A monitoring difference is a symptom to investigate. Record the date range and the affected position in the app and tell the contractor about visible shade, debris, or damage that you can observe safely.

Do not order a replacement from the app reading alone. Ask what testing is needed to identify the cause and what work is included in the diagnostic scope.

Does a replacement just need the same wattage?

The proposed replacement must be reviewed against the actual system and mounting requirements. Keep the original model information, system records, and prior service documents available.

Do not assume a panel is suitable because it has a similar appearance or advertised output. Let the contractor confirm equipment compatibility and any necessary material changes in the quote.

What if the original model is unavailable?

Ask what compatible options can be considered and whether the proposal changes anything else in the system. Discuss availability before agreeing on a completion date.

If a warranty may apply, ask the provider what it will supply and which costs remain separate. We do not guarantee a replacement model, approval, or reimbursement.

What should I send for a quote?

Send your DFW city, equipment details if known, ground-level photos, monitoring screenshots, and any assessment already completed. A professional can review the requested service and whether further diagnostics are needed before pricing the repair.
