HOMEOWNER GUIDE · DALLAS–FORT WORTH

How often does your solar need attention?

Use the equipment manufacturer’s instructions and your system’s condition to plan maintenance. Cleaning, performance troubleshooting, and a professional equipment review serve different purposes; one fixed cleaning schedule is not right for every property.

When should I ask about cleaning?

Visible buildup and site conditions can justify a cleaning review. Tell a professional about the array’s condition, mounting type, and access. Do not assume that every low-production period is caused by dirty glass.

Check the module manufacturer’s care guidance. Ask a professional about the proposed method rather than applying generic online cleaning instructions to unfamiliar equipment.

What can I keep track of myself?

Maintain a simple record of monitoring alerts, changes in production, dates of service, and planned roof work. Save equipment documents and prior quotes in one place. Observe the array only from a safe location.

After an unusual event or a new error, record when the change began. Do not wait for a calendar reminder to report suspected damage or an ongoing fault.

What should a maintenance visit include?

Ask for the actual scope: visual review, monitoring checks, diagnostics, cleaning, or other agreed work. These should not be treated as interchangeable labels. Confirm what records you will receive and whether any repairs require a separate quote.

A $200 nonrefundable service deposit covers the on-site visit and initial assessment. It is credited toward the total if you approve repairs. If you decline repairs, the $200 fee still applies. Additional work is quoted for approval. Panel cleaning is priced separately at $15 per panel.

How does this apply to my DFW property?

Roof height, access, ground mounting, nearby debris, and equipment type help define the work. Send your city and safe photos so a professional can review the request. There is no need to choose a recurring plan before understanding what your system needs.
