Start with a property view
Send the address, an existing property plan if available, and ground-level photos showing the proposed area and surroundings. Identify trees, buildings, slopes, access routes, and how the land is currently used.
Describe other plans for the space, including landscaping, fencing, parking, or future construction. The array should be considered alongside those uses before the preferred location is treated as settled.
Review the array and connection as one project
This page does not specify foundations, trench depths, or electrical construction. Those details must be established for the actual site and selected equipment. Do not begin digging or site work from a preliminary idea.
| Site question | What to discuss |
|---|---|
| Solar exposure | The proposed location and any nearby shading. |
| Ground conditions | What structural or site assessment is required. |
| Electrical route | How the array relates to the home’s electrical equipment. |
| Property limits | Survey information, easements, and applicable project restrictions. |
| Access and upkeep | How installation and later service will reach the equipment. |
Compare ground and roof options fairly
If both locations are possible, ask the proposals to identify their different site work, mounting, connection work, and generation assumptions. A ground-mounted system is not automatically cheaper or better because the roof is left untouched.
Likewise, available land does not establish the appropriate system size. Electricity use, equipment selection, and the project goals still matter. Include battery backup as a separate goal if you want it considered.
Prepare a complete quote request
Provide usage records, proposed array location, any known property constraints, and the reason you prefer ground mounting. If the property is outside the central metroplex, send the exact address so we can confirm coverage and scheduling.
Sun Ray reviews new installations across DFW and surrounding communities up to approximately two hours beyond it, with no travel fee. Ground-mounted work receives a site-specific proposal; availability, feasibility, and the complete construction scope are confirmed before booking.
