Which circuits were meant to stay on?
Compare the affected rooms or appliances with your installation documents. Say whether all expected backup circuits failed or only particular loads went off. Do not assume an air conditioner or electric range was included.
If the backup scope was never clear, request the circuit list and design information from the installer. That gives the service professional a concrete expected result to compare with the event.
Capture the outage sequence
Record when grid power failed, the battery charge before the outage if known, what was running, and any app message. Distinguish a system that never supplied power from one that worked and then stopped.
Stored energy can run low, and heavy loads can cause an overload response on systems such as Powerwall. Record what happened; restart procedures and thresholds are model-specific.
Keep the response safe
Use normal appliance controls to reduce nonessential loads when it is safe to do so. Do not bypass the backup switch, move circuits, repeatedly reset breakers, or open electrical equipment.
For smoke, burning smells, or immediate danger, move away and contact emergency services. For an ordinary backup fault, follow the manufacturer’s instructions or request service for the exact equipment.
Plan the review after the event
Save the outage history before it becomes harder to locate in the app. Send your equipment model, expected backup circuits, charge history, and alert screenshots.
Sun Ray Solutions can discuss an assessment or a proposed battery installation in DFW. A review should distinguish a repair need from a request for longer runtime or a larger backup scope.
