What is your Enphase system telling you?
Enphase distinguishes a gateway reporting issue from a microinverter reporting issue. The IQ Gateway, also called an Envoy on some systems, collects system information. A missing connection at that point can affect what you see in the app. Enphase’s troubleshooting guide explains these alerts.
Look at when the reading was last updated and whether the change followed a router replacement, outage, roof project, or storm. Save a screenshot rather than changing equipment settings.
| What you see | What we need to separate |
|---|---|
| Gateway not reporting | Monitoring connectivity versus an equipment or power-supply concern |
| One or more microinverters not reporting | Communication loss versus confirmed lost output at those devices |
| Fresh data with lower production | Weather, shade, array differences, and possible equipment faults |
| An alert after roof work | The pre-work records, the affected devices, and the reconnection or commissioning scope |
What an Enphase service review can include
We start with your description, equipment identification, and available monitoring records. The agreed visit can address accessible system condition, the reported fault, and the checks needed to distinguish monitoring trouble from an electrical issue. Tell us if batteries or backup equipment are part of the system.
Access to the manufacturer’s monitoring tools may require your permission and account-owner involvement. Please do not send passwords. If you recently bought the home or your installer closed, share the account-transfer or service steps you have already attempted.
A single dark panel tile in an app is not enough to select a replacement part. Where further electrical testing, roof access, manufacturer support, or specialist imaging is needed, we explain that scope before proceeding.
Replacing a failed microinverter
When diagnosis supports replacement, we check the exact microinverter, panel, cabling, gateway, and system configuration. Older M-series equipment and different IQ generations should not be treated as interchangeable. The manufacturer’s current compatibility guidance and the specific installation determine the replacement path.
The written proposal identifies the equipment, roof-access work, installation labor, related materials, and completion checks. Monitoring records and the device mapping may also need to be updated as part of the replacement.
If you want higher-wattage panels at the same time, review that as a separate system upgrade. A replacement microinverter does not automatically establish the capacity or compatibility for a larger panel.
Enphase repair cost and warranty questions
Our diagnostic and maintenance visit requires a $200 nonrefundable service deposit. It applies toward approved repairs; if you decline repairs, it is retained for the visit and initial assessment. Replacement equipment and additional work require an agreed quote. No travel fee.
Manufacturer coverage depends on the product and applicable warranty. Enphase explains that component warranty support can continue when the original installer closes, but you still need to confirm the claim process and any labor or other costs. Our warranty replacement installation page explains what to gather.
Already have an approved replacement? Send the model and approval details before scheduling. We confirm that the supplied equipment and the proposed installation scope are suitable.
What you can safely gather before contacting us
Send your city, approximate panel count, the last normal production date, and a screenshot showing the alert and timestamp. Add equipment models from your paperwork or accessible labels only. Tell us about recent electrical, roofing, internet, or ownership changes.
Stay off the roof and leave enclosures, wiring, and panel connectors to a qualified professional. Avoid repeated breaker resets. If equipment is smoking, sparking, or visibly damaged, keep clear and seek urgent assistance rather than following an app troubleshooting sequence.
