Build a useful solar records folder
Keep financial account details and passwords out of general service requests. The relevant providers should explain their own ownership, account, and agreement-transfer processes.
- Original equipment list and installation documents, if available.
- Current monitoring access and recent dated production records.
- Service history, replaced-equipment records, and known open issues.
- Roof replacement or panel removal and reinstall records.
- Equipment and workmanship warranty documents.
- The correct provider contact for any ownership or agreement transfer.
Describe the issue you want assessed
Tell us whether the concern is an alert, low production, unavailable monitoring, visible damage, or a question raised during the transaction. Send the exact wording of a requested service item so we can determine whether it falls within our scope.
Ask in advance what written findings or completion records can be provided. Do not assume a routine visit includes a lender-specific report, engineering certification, real estate inspection, or a guarantee of future generation.
Keep the closing schedule realistic
Share the requested deadline and any inspection or roof-work dates. We confirm availability after reviewing the request; a closing date does not establish a guaranteed service or parts timeline.
If roof work is part of the sale preparation, coordinate the removal and reinstallation separately from diagnostics. Identify who approves changes and who receives updates so the homeowner, agent, roofer, and solar contractor are working from the same scope.
Understand the visit and repair terms
Sun Ray’s diagnostic visit requires a $200 nonrefundable service deposit, credited toward approved repairs. If repairs are declined, the deposit is retained for the visit and initial assessment. Any repair or replacement scope is agreed separately.
There is no travel fee within our coverage area. Send the property address, service concern, available equipment records, and requested date. The outcome should be a clear record of the agreed work and any unresolved items, not an unsupported promise about the transaction.
